Gregg Allman would have been 70 yrs old today. We honor and celebrate him and his music today.

According to the Gregg Allman website, there will be celebrations on the east and west coasts, Friday, December 8th.

Mayor Robert Reichert of Macon, GA, has declared this day Gregg Allman Day in Macon, a city Gregg often claimed as his own. The mayor said, “I encourage all citizens to honor his memory and place in our community by supporting arts education and attending concerts by local musicians, both established and up and coming.”

The proclamation and a key to the city of Macon was received by Gregg’s son, Devon Allman, who donated the honors to The Allman Brothers Big House Museum, where a tribute event took place in Macon, GA on September 9th.

On the west coast, Devon Allman will be celebrating his father with a concert at The Fillmore in San Francisco. Devon is launching the Allman/Betts World Tour 2018 with a special show at The Fillmore. Devon’s new six-piece band, The Devon Allman Project, will debut along with Duane Betts and many friends.
