We are big fans of Larkin Poe and this brand new video, Trouble in Mind, shot by BluesBroad on YouTube, as it gives us a front row view of these talented, musical sisters, known as “The Little Sisters of The Allman Brothers.”

“Trouble in Mind” is from Larkin Poe’s album Reskinned, released in 2016. An American roots rock band from Atlanta, Georgia, fronted by sisters, Rebecca Lovell (lead vocals, electric and acoustic guitar, mandolin, piano) and Megan Lovell (harmony vocals, Lapsteel, dobro) Larkin Poe have strong Southern harmonies, sizzling electric guitar and slide guitar riffs, and a unique, blues-roots sound. Also members of the band are Tarka Layman (electric bass) and Kevin McGowen (drums.)

They have three studio albums KIN (2014) Reskinned (2016) and Peach (2017) and four EPs Spring, Summer, Fall,Winter (all 2010) and Thick as Thieves (2011.)

Thanks to BluesBroad (Joan Mallotides), the video also shares what it’s like to attend the annual New York State Blues Festival, which is happening now, June 28-30th, 2018. The New York State Rhythm & Blues Festival showcases a collection of regional and national artists from multiple genres, all with roots steeped in tradition and vision. Their mission, according to their website, is to preserve, protect and promote blues music and culture. Go NY State Blues Festival!
