Richie Kotzen, "Venom" video, Rock and Blues Muse

Guitarist, singer-songwriter Richie Kotzen has released the official music video for his new single, “Venom.”

Richie Kotzen recently spoke with Eddie Trunk on his SiriusXM show, Trunk Nation, and said he was working on new material for a possible new solo album. Kotzen recently rejoined rock supergroup, The Winery Dogs with bassist Billy Sheenan and drummer Mike Portnoy, for a month-long tour in May 2019.

Kotzen released two singles “The Damned” and “Riot” in 2018. The tracks feature long time bassist Dylan Wilson and drummer Mike Bennet.  His latest solo album, Salting Earth was released April 2017 via Headroom-Inc.

Richie Kotzen is an American guitarist, singer, songwriter, producer with a prolific solo career with 20 releases, and was a member of the hard rock band, Poison from 1991-1993, Mr. Big from 1999-2002, and since 2012 he has been the frontman for the band The Winery Dogs. The Winery Dogs released a self-titled debut album in 2013, and their second album in 2015 titled Hot Streak.

Kotzen was inspired to learn the guitar by the band, Kiss and recorded his first solo album by the age of 19. At age 21 he joined Poison, co-writing and performing on the album, Native Tongue. His solo career after that focused on R&B, soul, funk infused melodic rock and he made guest appearances on several albums by Glenn Hughes, Stevie Salas, and more. He has described his style as a mix of rock, blues, heavy metal, jazz, fusion and soul music.
