World renowned blues/R&B guitar player, singer-songwriter Kirk Fletcher releases his pre-production video from the studio recording his recent album, Hold On, shot at Music Ape Studios, Bristol, UK. Hold On was nominated for a Blues Music Award in the category of “Contemporary Blues Album 2019.”

A four-time Blues Music Award nominee and British Blues Award nominee, Kirk Fletcher is one of the best guitar players in the world and is known for his soulful playing and singing. His unique approach is both modern and authentic. Hold On is a collection of funky, contemporary blues, R&B, gospel, and soul tunes with shades of rock.

Hold On invites you into Kirk Fletcher’s world. And that world is so musically dynamic with moving melodies and extraordinary playing. This is no ordinary guitarist, singer-songwriter. With vulnerable lyrics, beautiful chord changes and progressions, Hold On is a sample of what Fletcher is capable of.

With an enviable music pedigree, including a four-year stint as lead guitarist for The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Fletcher has played and collaborated with blues greats such as Pinetop Perkins, James Cotton, Hubert Sumlin, Charlie Musselwhite, Robben Ford, Joe Bonamassa, Doyle Bramhall Sr., Cindi Lauper, Michelle Branch and others.

Kirk picked up guitar at the age of eight, playing in his father’s church alongside his brother, Walter. He shared a love of many musical styles with his brother, including Jimi Hendrix and Steely Dan,  and learned about great guitar tone from him, which Kirk is known for.

Nominated as “Best Blues Guitarist” on the scene in 2019 by Guitar World Magazine, Fletcher has released four studio albums and one live album, I’m Here I’m Gone, Shades of Blue, My Turn, Burning Blues (Live at the baked Potato) and Hold On.

Kirk also plays in the band The Mannish Boys and can be heard on their albums That Represent ManBig Plans, Shake For Me, Live & In Demand,  Lowdown Feeling,  Double Dynamite, and Wrapped Up And Ready. He has played guitar on a number of other artists’ albums including Longtime Friends in the Blues by Bob Corritore and Tail Dragger jones, Shiver and Sigh by Kara Grainger (2013), Bonetime by James Harman, Muddy Wolf at Red Rocks by Joe Bonamassa, Live at the Greek Theater by Joe Bonamassa (2016), Hard Time, Bad Decision by Lisa Mann and many others.
