We are very pleased to premiere the video “Bars” by award-winning singer-songwriter, harmonicist, John Németh from his upcoming album, ‘Stronger Than Strong,’ set to release October 16, 2020 via Nola Blue Records.

Two-time Blues Music Award winner and 15-time BMA nominee, the great John Németh has an unmistakable voice and range, soulful and compelling, rivaled only by his insightful songwriting. As evidenced by the beautiful and moving “Bars”, Németh is a powerful vocalist and songwriter of our generation whose thoughtful lyrics speak to the current climate of our world. The video is produced by William Hurley.

With his seasoned road band, The Blue Dreamers, featuring Jon Hay on guitar, Matthew Wilson on bass, and Danny Banks on drums, Németh uses razor-sharp wit to examine the troubles we are enduring in the world today with just enough humor to keep us afloat. Soul blues song, “Bars” is just that dynamic and moving.

John Nemeth says, “I’ve been looking forward to releasing this next single, ‘Bars.’ I was inspired to write the song by a conversation with my five year old son, who asked why we have bars on the windows of our home. After we talked, I thought more about it, and the song just flowed from there. Huge thanks to William Hurley for his beautiful production of this powerful video. Many thanks to the crew at Extended Play Sessions and to John Paul Keith. Enjoy and feel free to share!”

Having established himself in the top ranks of blues musicians and modern soul singers, John Németh has been bridging the gap between Blues, Soul and Americana for over two decades. He is internationally acclaimed both as a performer and recording artist and his songs are personal as well as universal, melody-driven with reflective lyrics and nuanced humor.

In 2004, John had the bitter-sweet good fortune to undertake a two-year stint with Anson Funderburgh and the Rockets, filling in for the ailing Sam Myers. Soon after, he signed with Blind Pig Records, and his 2007 label debut Magic Touch (2007), produced by Anson Funderburgh and featuring Junior Watson on guitar, received enthusiastic response from fans and the media and he was hailed as the new voice of the Blues. In 2008 Németh was recruited by blues legend, Elvin Bishop to do some performances and contribute four vocal tracks to his Grammy-nominated album, The Blues Rolls On.

After releasing two more albums on the Blind Pig label, Love Me Tonight and Name of the Day, John started raking in awards and released two more albums in 2012, Blues Live and Soul Live. Relocating to Memphis, TN in 2013 proved fruitful as he teamed up with producer Scott Bomar and his classic Soul Band, the Bo-Keys to release Memphis Grease (2014.) It was then John won the BMA for Best Soul Blues Male Artist and Best Soul Blues Album 2015.

In 2017, Németh released Feelin’ Freaky (produced by Luther Dickinson), a genre-bending album that drew on his strong blues, R&B and rock and roll influences.

Returning to his roots, John Németh’s 10th album, Stronger Than Strong features a dozen new tracks of low-down blues and fresh rockin’ tunes. Recorded at Electraphonic Recording in Memphis, the album features 10 original compositions.
