The Immediate Family

Powerhouse rockers, The Immediate Family (Danny Kortchmar, Waddy Wachtel, Russ Kunkel, Leland Sklar, Steve Postell) release their new single ‘3:45 Coming Through’ from their new EP, Can’t Stop Progress out on Quarto Valley Records.

The Immediate Family gets swampy and steamy on the group’s new single “3:45 Coming Through” and makes their high-level smoothness look easy. Steve Postel delivers tight lead vocals and sweet slide guitar work on top of the band’s perfect ensemble sound and turns the song into a fully-realized piece of mid-tempo greatness. The vocal hook is an immediate ear worm and this crew of all-stars gets underneath it in just the right way. Play it loud and ride the groove!

“3:45 Coming Through” was written by Steve Postell who states, “There is a long tradition of songs about trains, and songs about heartache, particularly in blues and folk music. I decided to tackle both themes in the song “3:45 Coming Through”. As always, The Immediate Family brings our signature big beat rock n’ roll to this track, and I get to suggest the train whistle with some slide guitar.”

Showcasing the band’s rock and roll essence, Can’t Stop Progress is comprised of five original songs, including the live version of “Machine Gun Kelly,” made famous by James Taylor, written by Danny Kortchmar.

Building upon the success of The Immediate Family’s first U.S. EP, Slippin’ and Slidin’, released in fall 2020 and debuted at #6 on Billboard’s Blues Chart, the new EP Can’t Stop Progress gives fans a deeper look into their music. Can’t Stop Progress is a bridge to the band’s much-anticipated U.S. full-length album to be released in late 2021 on Quarto Valley Records, as well as an upcoming documentary by filmmaker/director Denny Tedesco. Film release date TBD.
