We are pleased to premiere Dani Wilde’s new single, “Wild Women Don’t Have The Blues” (Ida Cox.) Vocalist, guitarist, songwriter, Wilde is accompanied by bassist Victoria Smith and her brother, renowned blues harpist Will Wilde. The single is produced by Wilde and released via VizzTone Label Group. I feel like Victoria and I are the Wild Women,Wilde says.I love working with Vicky, we always have a great time when we are in the studio or on tour together.”

British Blues Award winner for ‘Best Female Vocalist’ Dani Wilde burst onto the international blues scene in 2007, opening for Jools Holland at London’s Royal Albert Hall and signing to international blues record label Ruf Records. Since then, she has toured extensively (playing up to 250 concerts a year) across the UK, Europe, charting in the blues and country charts in Europe. USA concerts have included headline shows under her own name, and performances with girl group “Girls With Guitars” alongside Samantha Fish and Cassie Taylor. Dani Wilde has also opened for Journey, Foreigner, Johnny Winter, and Robben Ford.

Dani Wilde wraps her soulful and downright beautiful voice around this blues acoustic number, packing a lot of fire just beneath the surface that leads to her throaty growl and enviable vocal range. A song about female empowerment, her toneful guitar simmers alongside Will Wilde’s stirring harp.

Wilde has released seven albums, her latest being Live at Brighton Road via VizzTone Label Group. Her relationship with Vizztone continues in 2021 with a run of singles recorded in the recent pandemic lockdown.

Says Dani, “Having been locked down for months, I was so excited to get back in the studio. I wanted to record some songs by my blues idols. I chose this song by Ida Cox which was written in 1924 but is still very much relevant today. It has a strong feminist message that I really respect. I love strong women who open doors for other women, and Ida Cox was just that. She was a businesswoman who ran her own company; a troupe called Raisin’ Cain, at a time where workplace restrictions made it difficult for women to find jobs outside of the home. And she was one of the few female blues singers of the time to write her own songs.”
