We are pleased to premiere the video “Lies and Fear (Live In The Studio)” by blues/rock guitarist, singer, songwriter, Alastair Greene, from his album, The New World Blues, out October 2020 via Whiskey Bayou Records and produced by Tab Benoit. The single coincides with a multi-state tour with Alastair Greene and Tab Benoit. “Lies and Fear” was recorded live at Coyote Road Studios with Greene’s own touring band.

Alastair Greene puts on an effortless display of high-end skills and vibes on his new single “Lies and Fear.” It’s a funky jam with a heavy riff, outstanding vocal harmonies, and a ton of Greene’s smooth-yet-mighty guitar work that was tracked live in the studio with his road band backing him up. Greene’s solos are full of actual ideas, not blazing scale passages, and he keeps you hanging on each note while you wait for the next one. He’s one of the tastiest guitarists going these days and this happening, mid-tempo workout is just more proof of that happy fact.

Alastair notes, “’Lies and Fear’ was one of the songs I’d written before going down to Louisiana to make the album that became The New World Blues with producer Tab Benoit for his Whiskey Bayou Records label. Lyrically it reflects a turbulent time in our nation’s history when it was hard to know who and what to believe at any given time.”

“Lies and Fear” is Alastair’s third single from The New World Blues to receive major airplay on SiriusXM Radio and has been featured by Joe Bonamassa on his show. Greene’s first video single “Living Today” saw a world premiere from Relix magazine while “Bayou Mile” had a week-long exclusive premiere hosted on DittyTV.

Greene’s spring/summer tour with Tab Benoit and his band continues to be a huge success, performing at major festivals, theaters, and music venues including a six-night “Chicago Takeover” at the City Winery. Alastair seizes the moment, executing a blistering opening set with Tab on drums and Corey Duplechin on bass, garnering standing ovations nightly. Then, after Benoit’s legendary, high energy set, Alastair joins Tab for a rip-roaring, head-banging encore. It’s truly a musical event not to be missed. The tour has just started up again and continues throughout the summer and beyond.

Alastair Greene spent eight years touring internationally as lead guitarist and vocalist for the Alan Parsons Project, playing major dates with Starship featuring Mickey Thomas, and doing blues gigs as a longtime regular and host at the Memphis-based Blues Foundation events and showcases. He’s rocked featured performances at the Big Blues Bender, on the Legendary Rhythm & Blues Cruise, and also spent a year touring the world with the Sugaray Rayford Band, a stellar group that was nominated for a 2020 Blues Music Award. He’s now all about the current 2021 tour with Grammy-nominated Tab Benoit and the Alastair Greene Band.

Greene has also performed with Bob Margolin, Bobby Rush, Buddy Guy, Coco Montoya, Curtis Salgado, Debbie Davies, Eric Burdon, Eric Gales, Jimmy Hall, Jimmy Johnson, Kim Simmons & Savoy Brown, and many more important artists.

Alastair Greene is currently on tour. See tour dates here.
