Troy Redfern, The Fever

Hot off from winning Hard Rock Hell’s “Blues Artist of the Year” award and having his album The Wings of Salvation featured in Rock and Blues Muse’s “Top 25 Albums of 2022,” British slide guitarist and singer songwriter Troy Redfern is pleased to announce the release of his brand-new single “The Fever” on Wednesday January 11, 2023. “The Fever” will appear on Troy’s forthcoming album due for release later in the year.

“The Fever” is a major hit about to happen. Redfern has his sound so tightly dialed-in that this kind of relentless blues/rock simply flows out of him now and each song is better than the last. His vocals are up-front and bold and his slide playing displays the grace and grit Redfern fans have come to expect. Troy plays an ever-shifting wardrobe of cool guitars in the accompanying music video and gives himself to the camera with the confidence of a long-time star. Redfern is one of the top talents out there right now and he’s clearly seizing his moment. You’re going to want to share it with him.

“The Fever is about pushing back and breaking through all the obstacles when you’re feeling held down,” says Redfern. “It’s about feeling as if it’s you against the world.”

The new single follows the news of Redfern’s co-headline April 2023 UK Tour with The Commoners. Tickets are available via Planet Rock’s 48-hour ticket pre-sale from Wednesday January 11th. Click here for pre-sale tickets. Tickets go on general sale on Friday January 13th Here

Redfern has wasted no time since the release of the last single from his criticality acclaimed album The Wings of Salvation. In December, after the success of playing two storming sets Planet Rock’s Rockstock, Troy headed back into the studio with the same dream team that made his critically acclaimed album The Wings of Salvation such an authentic success.

“The Fever” is produced by Dave Marks (who also plays bass), and features Paul Stewart on drums. The single is mixed by Jo Webb.

“The plan for The Fever was to make something bigger and ballsier than what has come before,” says Redfern. “I also wanted to expand the musical landscape with new colours and sonic horizons.”

Carving out a name for himself by relentlessly touring and blazing a trail across the main stage festival circuits in the UK, Europe, Scandinavia, and Russia, and sharing the stage with the likes of Robert Plant and Dr Feelgood, Troy has worked tirelessly to build a strong following of diehard fans who gravitate towards his passionately honest, fiery performances and visceral slide guitar playing.
In the last twelve months Troy has completed four full UK tours garnering an overwhelming response from music critics, reviewers, and fans alike. He has toured with Robert Jon & The Wreck, the Quireboys, The Sweet, and When Rivers Meet. In October 2022, he will embark on a 12-date UK tour supporting DARE.

Leading up to his September 23rd, 2022, release of his new studio album The Wings of Salvation, Troy released three singles and accompanying music videos for Come On, Gasoline, and Sweet Carolina, all of which have attracted heavy radio airplay and have been featured on Joe Bonamassa’s popular Spotify playlists Cutting Edge Blues, Epic Guitar Solos, and Ultimate Blues Rock.

On February 5, 2023, Troy will play Planet Rock’s Winter’s End Festival. On April 13th he will embark on a co-headline UK tour with Canadian roots blues rock band, The Commoners.
