Black Country Communion To Release New Studio Album ‘BCC V’

Black Country Communion has started recording their highly anticipated fifth studio album ‘BCC V’. The supergroup includes guitarist Joe Bonamassa, vocalist/bassist Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple, The Dead Daisies), drummer Jason Bonham (Led Zeppelin) and keyboardist Derek Sherinian (Dream Theater, Alice Cooper). The band entered Sunset Sound studio in Hollywood California to record their fifth studio album.

Hughes shared more news on his social media on Friday, June 9th. “Day 7. BBC album V. 10 Tracks recorded in the (heart emoji) of Hollywood, California. Sunset Sound. There’s a lot of love & an abundance of magical music being made. Again I say to you, #loveistheanswer & #musicisthehealer See today’s tweet below.

The news of the new album by Black Country Communion comes after they shared that the band will perform on 2024’s Keeping The Blues Alive At Sea IX cruise, starting in Miami, FL to Cozumel, Mexico March 18-22.

Black Country Communion’s BCC V will follow the band’s BCCIV released September 2017. Fans have been  hoping that this popular band would record another album and embark on a tour. Kevin Shirley will produce the new album as he did the last three LPs. The band originally came together when Bonamassa and Hughes merged their styles on a Los Angeles stage for a groundbreaking performance at Guitar Center’s King Of The Blues show. With Shirley’s guidance, they added Bonham and Sherinian.

In a 2012 Music Radar interview of Joe Bonamassa, attention was brought to Hughes’ interview with ABC News where Hughes said that their album Afterglow could be the quartet’s final record. The reason Hughes said was because of Black Country Communion’s sporadic touring schedule, (Bonamassa), citing the guitarist’s extensive solo tour schedule. See here

The article stated that Bonamassa was wounded and that shows were then cancelled.

All is well with Bonamassa and Hughes now and their news of a reunion and studio release is greeted by much fan enthusiasm.

Hughes recently said, “The band was meant to be. It was formed out of a friendship with Joe and I. We got the guys to come in, and it’s always been a strong brotherhood. And we’re very lucky and fortunate to have met. I’ve known Jason since was (a kid.) I just think that these four guys in this band are the right guys to play in the band.”

Stay tuned!
