‘I Don’t Mind’ is taken from their new EP ‘GA-20 Volume 2’ out now. Since 2018, GA-20 has been at the forefront of traditional Blues revival. The dynamic throwback trio have long been disciples of the place where traditional blues, country and rock ’n’ roll intersect. As they continue with their mission, GA-20 welcomes in the exciting vocal powerhouse and slide expertise of Cody Nilsen. Together with guitarist/founder Matthew Stubbs and drummer Joshua Kiggans, the chart-topping power trio forges ahead into 2025 with their GA-20 EP Volume 2, and a renewed commitment to their take on the traditional song based electric blues they love.
On the new focus track from their EP Volume 2, GA-20 takes on the cult R&B classic “I Don’t Mind.” Though written and best known by James Brown & The Famous Flames, GA-20 take their inspiration from the lesser known versions from The Who and MC5, dipping into the distortion and raw approach that has been a trademark of the band.

“I Don’t Mind”
“GA-20’s Volume 2 EP is hot stuff with spunky riffs, hot-rod grooves, spitfire solos and Nilsen’s radiant vocals. There’s a marvelous nostalgic quality to song structures and the bare-bones, live off-the-floor recording aesthetic, yet it all feels miraculously fresh.” – Joe Bosso, Guitar World
“Hitting out of the gate with a viciously tasty groove, GA-20’s new single ‘Stranger Blues’ carries a driving slide guitar force that supports the swaggering and soulful vocals. Indeed, this is one of those tunes that is absolutely made for dancing and could turn any club into a jumping and jiving affair. GA-20 have proven by now to be masters of interpreting the blues in a way that is faithful and authentic while also injecting fresh vibrancy into classic songs.” – Neil Ferguson, Glide Magazine
“GA-20 still sound exactly like GA-20 even with a new vocalist. It’s still the same electric blues sound we’ve come to love from the band, just a little different, more of a tweak than anything else. Their new single ‘Cryin’ & Pleadin” has us even more excited to hear where the new line up goes sonically from here.” – Ken Sears, If It’s Too Loud
“A soul-stirring force that complements his nimble slide work, new singer/guitarist Cody Nilsen’s voice brings a fiery spirit sure to resonate with long-time fans and newcomers alike. The rhythm section, led by the impeccable drumming of Joshua Kiggans, keeps their new single anchored in a tight, driving rhythm. Guitarist/founder Matthew Stubbs is a master of traditional blues, funneling the sounds of early Chicago and post-war blues into GA-20’s distinctive style.” – Lauren Leadingham, American Blues Scene
