Laren Anderson, Zombie Blues, single image

We are pleased to premiere the new single “Zombie Blues” by blues rocking powerhouse vocalist/songwriter Lauren Anderson featuring blues/rock guitarist Albert Castiglia from her upcoming album, Burn It All Down set to release September 9, 2022.

“Zombie Blues” is a rocking, uptempo shuffle that swings hard enough to get the walking dead out on the dance floor. Anderson’s big-voiced belt is in full effect and top man Albert Castiglia slings that guitar of his like tomorrow is Halloween night. This an absolutely cool, live-sounding cut that should be added to every party playlist out there. Kick off your blues and boogie down in your bones!

Lauren Anderson is a force in blues/rock, reflected in her songwriting on Burn It All Down, entirely written by Anderson herself with the exception of one co-write. This blues/rock dynamo produced the album along with Taylor Lonardo. Her band boasts considerable talents as well, including Matt Doctor (drums), Hutch (bass), Dan Wecht (guitar), Johnathan Smith (keyboards), Will Elliot (trombone), and Joe Douglas (saxophone, flute.)

Lauren says, ““Zombie Blues” is just a fun, high energy, weird little blues tune. It makes you wanna get up and dance but the real magic comes from my friend Albert Castiglia. He’s featured on this track on guitar and he really makes the song come alive!”

Born in Chicago, now based in Nashville, Anderson was classically trained throughout most of her life. Considering a career as an opera singer, she earned her undergraduate degree in music and a master’s degree in music therapy from the University of Kansas. Working for seven years in a pediatric unit at The University of Kansas Hospital, Lauren became a music therapist and worked with children and at-risk youth.

At the same time, she realized that rock and soul music and performing live were her true passions. When she first formed her band, Kris Schnebelen (Trampled Underfoot) became her drummer. She began performing solo gigs and recording EPs and full-length albums. Influenced by Bonnie Raitt, Etta James, Eva Cassidy, Nina Simone and others, Anderson shines with her own sound and style. She won 2015’s Female Vocalist of the Year from the Midwest Music Awards and also took home first place in 2018’s Wing Dang Doodle Competition.

The talented songstress has released three EPs, Do & Hope, The Game, and Won’t Stay Down, her full length debut Truly Me and last year’s sophomore release Love On The Rocks, which tipped the charts with the fire she’s known for and garnered wide critical acclaim. She continues to tour in support of her releases.

Anderson will be releasing a series of singles in advance of her forthcoming album, Burn It All Down.

As a feminist, part of Lauren Anderson’s mission is to see women supporting other women. She is excited to see more women stepping up and taking charge in a male dominated music industry. Burn It All Down is about advocacy and creating new possibilities.
