Four-piece rock band Federal Charm have just released their official music video for their first single, “Choke.”

Federal Charm, one of the UK’s hottest rock bands, is set to release their highly anticipated third studio album Passenger on Friday, September 14th. Fans who pre-order the album will get the first single “Choke” as a digital free instant track. The album can be pre-ordered here. The CD edition will be available on the merchandise desk when Federal Charm tours the UK with The Bad Flowers and Those Damn Crows in September 2018.

Passenger was recorded, produced and mixed at Willow Terrace Studios in Manchester. Federal Charm co-produced the album with John Simms (Hidden Colour Audio) who also engineers for fellow Stockport band, Blossoms.

“John was really good to work with,” says Paul Bowe, one of the found members and guitarist of Federal Charm. “He’s highly technical, has a great set of ears and commands an invaluable ability to locate and add that missing ingredient to make a song stand out from the crowd.”

For Passenger, the new line-up wanted to retain Federal Charm’s previous natural sound, but also wanted to create an exciting new sonic platform for the band’s new vocalist, Tom Guyer, to really let loose and showed the world what he can do. The band spent more time than any other of their previous albums by developing this material and taking the songs into new territory, tone-wise.

Bowe says, “The new album is a personal account of the band’s creative journey over those last 18 months.”

Following 2016’s Planet Rock Roadstars co-headline tour with SIMO and Aaron Keylock, Federal Charm amicably parted ways with vocalist and guitarist Nick Bowden and drummer Danny Rigg. Paul Bowe (guitar) and LD Morawski (bass) recruited new vocalist and frontman Tom Guyer and one of Manchester’s top drummers, Josh Zahler.

Tom Guyer’s powerful voice led to immediate chemistry as he joined Paul and LD in writing sessions for Federal Charm’s third album, Passenger. His wide vocal range opened up new creative possibilities during the songwriting process that added an exciting and new dynamic that complimented Federal Charm’s blues-rock sound.

Over the years, Federal charm’s heavy new blues-rock musical direction and style has organically evolved since the band’s second album, Across the Divide (2015) New drummer Josh Zahler adds his own distinctive drumming style and grooves that compliments the band’s rhythm section.

Federal Charm performed a number of high profile gigs supporting UFO, Y&T, and Brian Downey’s Alive and Dangerous.
