Tom Petty, American Treasure Announcement, Rock and Blues Muse

Tom Petty’s website has had a time clock that ended today, July 11th. According to Variety, The Tom Petty Channel on SiriusXM announced that four CDs of unreleased music from Tom Petty’s vault will be released in a boxed set called, “American Treasure” out September 28th. The set will include previously 60 songs, previously unreleased live and studio recordings, put together by Petty’s daughter, Adria, his wife Dana, Heartbreakers members Mike Campbell and Benmont Trenth, and longtime engineer for Tom Petty, Ryan Ulate.

The set was previewed on SiriusXM with the unreleased song, “Keep a Little Soul” from 1982.

The details about this upcoming boxed set were announced Wednesday morning, July 11th, including a complete track list. See below.

Tom Petty was prolific, having released 13 albums with the Heartbreakers, three solo releases, two with Mudcrutch, many covers, live versions and more.

Tom Petty died October 2ndof 2017 of an accidental overdose of medications, according to his widow, Dana and daughter, Adria. Petty dealt with a number of health issues and a fractured hip while still on his last tour which ended a week before his death.
