Irish blues/rock vocalist, songwriter, and guitarist Gráinne Duffy announces her new album Dirt Woman Blues, set to release on May 19th via Blue Heart Records, produced by multi Grammy Award winner Chris Goldsmith (Blind Boys of Alabama, Ben Harper, Charlie Musselwhite) and Marc Ford.

The powerhouse roots artist Duffy releases the title track ‘Dirt Woman Blues’ in celebration of her forthcoming album.

Collaborating with blues-rock guitarist Marc Ford, best known as a former member of The Black Crowes, and her husband Paul Sherry who also plays guitar on the album, together they enlisted Gary Clark Jr’s Austin, TX rhythm section to round out the top-tier sound. JJ Johnson (drums, percussion-Black Crowes, Gary Clark Jr, Tedeschi Trucks Band), Elijah Ford (bass, keys Gary Clark Jr), along with Grammy-winning producer Chris Goldsmith, Jimmy Hoyson, Sam Goldsmith, John Ginty (keyboards) and Peter Levin.

“Dirt Woman Blues” is a solemn, empowered song about seeking love to fight the demons inside. Duffy’s presence on vocals is haunting and ethereal, putting us inside her soul and her lyrics. Her guitar work is toneful and tense, modeling the difficult emotions of life the track conveys. The lyric video that goes along with the song is equally emotive, using scenes of desolate landscapes to underscore the feelings of isolation and determination that Duffy channels so well. It’s an unforgettable piece of brilliant blues music from one of today’s best. Listen right now!
