We are so pleased for Buddy Guy’s Grammy Award win for his album, The Blues Is Alive And Well. We decided to feature a few highlights of Grammy Wins for Blues, Rock and Americana. For the full list see the link below. We have included videos of acceptance speeches and interviews.

Buddy Guy won the Grammy Award 2019 for Best Traditional Blues Album for his 2018 release  The Blues Is Alive And Well, featuring guest appearances by Keith Richards, Mick Jagger, James Bay and the Muscle Shoals Horns. Buddy Guy has won 7 Grammy awards and had 14 Grammy nominations.

 

Best Contemporary Blues Album
Fantastic Negrito won for his 2018 release Please Don’t Be Dead. This is Negrito’s first win, and  two nominations. We are very happy for Negrito. We have been following him since reviewing his first album, The Last Days of Oakland.

 

Best Americana Album
Brandi Carlile won the Grammy Award for Best Americana Album for her By The Way, I Forgive You Album and also won Best American Roots Song for “The Joke” from the same album

 

Best Rock Performance
The late Chris Cornell won The Grammy for “When Bad Does Good”. It is his third Grammy win. His children Toni and Christopher accepted the award.

 

Best Rock Album
Greta Van Fleet won the Grammy Award for Best Rock Album for their November 2017 release, From The Fires. And why is an AC/DC song played as the award was announced?
